Here in this post i will tell you how to start as seo in very start of your seo career. Before i will explain some key beginning point a SEO must already have the following experience but if you have not you can easily get tutorial by searching google . As a seo at beginning you must have the following thing in your pocket
1. HTML Coding and few knowledge of CSS, ASP..PHP is a plus
2. FTP Management software experience like cute-ftp etc
3. Strong google search skills ( read my next article will of google search skills )
4. Website Management and backup experience through ftp
5. walk through of mysql ,sql postgres etc
6. You should must learn campaign management of Google AdWords through tutorials ( i will write all of that articles soon)
Above mentioned step are necessary to learn this guide
Now lets talk about seo .
SEO target is to optimize and boost a website for search engines. In today world most of seo target is google because of it popularity and multi language support plus other a lot of factors. Before optimizing a website for search engines a beginning seo should must have some knowledge about search engine, crawlers bots, and the most yummy thing search engines love to eat. To learn about search engine and crawler bots try googling and find some cool tutorial about search engine like in search term type “How search Engine Work”. After learning all this things lets look at the website . A website should must have the following thing if not seo should must add them
1. Every page should must have proper and huge enough text content (non flash - in text more than 2500 characters min and 20000 max) .
2. Title , Keywords, Description tags with proper keywords and separate tags for all pages don’t duplicate them on all pages . In page text content keywords, and some title should must be repeat at least 4 times.
3. W3C validation (loosed) [ Learn w3c validation by finding tutorial on google ] CCS is good
4. Proper ALT tags for images
5. Title Length should not be more then 65 characters
6. Keywords Length should be between 268-350
7. Description Length 200-250
8. Website should have seo friendly content instead of dynamic .We can convert dynamic to static content like cat.php?catid=5 is convertible to /category/5.html easily . Please learn URL rewriting through google search by finding tutorials on mod rewrite or .htaccess url rewriting
9. Site map sitemap.xml , urlst.txt, sitemap.html , RRS and other maps around search engine for large websites to index them properly.
10. Pages names should be a plus point if you are optimizing a website page for a product like apple computer so insteadt of page product2.html its is best if it should be apple-computers.html or apple/computers/products.html in URL.
Now if all of above basic thing are done now time to do the real seo work.
First of all anylyze the website i mean try to find the basic purpose of the website like is it for construction,banking,vegitables,fruits,business,economics,education, and other business . If a website for example is made for construction then explore it more like which kind of construction website it is general contractors, remodulors, builders, part suppliers, etc. So lets suppose its construction contractors based website hmm finally we get it . Try to google around and fine the competitors of the website check there PR, Link backs, and content etc not to copy but just for knowledge. As a SEO never try Black hat seo techniuqes don’t be a copy cat . So be a unquie seo start building links for website by contacting good pr simmilar website and request for link exchange. Make sure that the website to which you are exchanging link have indexed link page on search engine try to check there cahce on google through google toolbars and also make sure that link page is linked from website home page. Try to exchange link from one of competitors back link website . So below are the link building steps.
1. Reciprocal links with simillar websites
2. Blog comments on simmilar content blogs
3. directory submission of simillar category but keep in mind directories should be uniques not black listed by google
4. article writing and then a link back from your article to website
5. social book marking
6. press releases
7. message boards and forums posts
all above are solid link building techniques
Now keep publishing website and you will see the result after few weeks. Keep regularly checking alexa rank, google rank and back links plus index pages on various search engines.
Track website visitors through web statistics . To track google activity for website don’t forget to signup for a google webmaster account and submit sitemap for websit and then you can track a lot of thing from there control pannel .
