Today we talk about searching google for seo purpose.
As a seo its my believe that google is the most important engine for a seo to get 70% job done for website optimizations. Below i will let you know some basic search string on google
1. A simple search [ putting any thin in search box and search it ]
2. Specific Search within double quotes “”[ Suppose that you are searching a keyword like cheap domain name this will be a simple search and return a huge search data but you can try explicit phrase to search the whole words by putting quote around it like "Cheap Domain Name" and it will give you better result. ]
3. Excluding Words [ Let suppose you searching a keyword romantic music -jazz and you want google to only show the website that have romantic music except jazz keyword . ]
4. Search a Specific Website [ You can search any keyword within a website by searching like this "Any keyword" site:www.anywebsite.com ]
5. Simillar word or synonyms [ If you want to include a word in your search result and that contain similar words or synonyms then try this "keyword" ~anyotherkeyword e.g "love" ~romantic
6. Search documents on websites [ You can search any keyword within files of some types like txt, doc, xls, ppt, pdf, xml etc by putting search string like this "Intel Processor setup" filetype:txt ]
7. Search Within URL [ You can search within website URL e.g inurl:"/products/intel" and you can also search the page of such url by doing this inurl:"/products/intel" core2duo ]
8. Search in title [ You can even search website title tags e.g intitle:"seo tips" ]
9. OR || search [ You can search google for two different keywords at same time e.g "Internet" OR "Computer" remember OR should be capital you may use || instead of OR
10. Phone listing search [ to search a number in phone book e.g phonebook:000-000-0000 ]
11. Calculator [ You can use googel calculator aswell e.g 56*45 or 56+789 or 56-9000 etc]
12. Word defination [You can get meaning of any thing e.g define:america etc]
13. Number Ranges [ you can search specific num ranges in different ways like if you want to buy a dvd within price range 10 to 100 USD then search string on google will be DVD $10..$100 or if you want to search history of any thing then string will be dinosour 1800..1900 e.g]
14. TIME search [ Simply type time new york ]
15 Stock Exchange [ simply type CSCO ]
16. Unit Convertor [ You can convert inches in foots or any unit into an toher unit by doing some thing like this 10.5 cm in inches or 1ft in inches]
17. Currency Convertor [ You can convert currency by searching like this 12 USD in GBP ]
18. Area Codes [ You can search Area codes simply 718 ]
19. Tracking Numbers [ You can search Shipping tracking numbers of UPS FedEx etc for example 1Z9999W99999999999]
20. Seo can search the inded pages of website by putting search string as site:www.anywebsite.com
21. Seo can check back links of website by putting search string as link:www.anywebsite.com
22. Seo can get any related content of a website to another to check duplicate content by search string related:www.anywebsite.com
Above are the basic and advance google searching techniques.
Now How SEO use goole
Let suppose i need back links for a soccer sports clothing related website then what should i search as seo to get simmilar websites for back links exhange or reciprocal linking hmmm
“Submit website” sports clothing
“Add url” Soccer Sports
“Add link” Sports clothing
“Link Exchange” Sports Clothing
so there are 100 of possibilities you can illustrate from above examples.
Seo can also find competitors website back links to get some good pr website
First of all do a simple search soccer clothing you will get top ten website on google pick any one of them and search it in google like this link:www.pickedwebsite.com you will get that website back links and then visit each of them and try if you can get a reciprocal link over there.
Seo can check keywords popularity by just typing any keyword in search bar you will see the previous history about such keywords e.g how many time that keyword was searched over google
